For Stadler Form AG I produced several short product films. They explain the features of the products and how they works. The films are used for displays at the POS, on screens at trade shows, as sales video and on Stadler Form's web site. The films are without narration, so it can run silently on POS screens. Text captions are displayed throughout the films to explain the actions. This made it also simpler to use the films in different languages. The captions were produced in German, English, Spanish, Chinese and Russian.

Planning / layout

Together with the client I developed a script and a rough story board. CAD Data of the product was then imported into Blender and simplified for animation.
The next step was to create a layout version of the film, to get a feeling for the timing and the overall impression.
Production
After the timing was approved from the client, the lighting was set up and the shots were rendered in the full resolution.    The "pack shots" were rendered with radiosity and global illumination to achieve a photo realistic look, whereas the technical shots were rendered with a simpler shading to get the look of an illustration.
The renderings were then composited in Adobe After Effects, together with the stills and the live video.
The final videos were rendered out in different formats:
- a full resolution version to run on Computers and Displays
- an iPhone version
- a version for the Web

I also produced a DVD in Adobe Encore. The DVD  contains a DVD ROM Section with the different formats.
